Where we are

Looking for a massage in Phnom Penh? Amiga is a small, woman-run salon on Street 258 in Daun Penh, a few minutes' walk from the Royal Palace, down a quiet street away from the riverside crowds.

What to expect

Our sign says
“really massage”

The English on our shopfront isn’t perfect. The meaning is exact.

Amiga is a therapeutic massage salon. We do Khmer massage, Thai massage, oil and lotion massage, aromatherapy, body scrubs and foot massage — and that is all we do. The salon is owned and run by women, the treatment area is open and shared, and you stay clothed or covered throughout.

Prices are printed on a board by the door and listed in full on this page. What you read is what you pay.

Close view of the padded reclining massage chairs with cushions and folded blankets

The chairs

Sixty minutes, eyes closed

Wide, properly padded, and reclined far enough that people fall asleep in them. Most guests keep their headphones on and their eyes shut for the whole hour.

No closed cabins, no back rooms. Everyone is in the same open room, and you can see it from the street before you walk in.

For people who work

An hour away
from your screen

Most of our regulars are not tourists. They are people who spend their days on a laptop and need one hour with their eyes closed.

The chairs are the reason they come back. They recline properly, they are wide, and you can genuinely fall asleep in one. Bring headphones, put something on, and let a therapist work on your legs for sixty minutes. A foot massage is $12 — cheaper than lunch, and considerably more useful after a long week.

No appointment, no membership, no package. You walk in, you choose a treatment, you leave an hour later.

Run by women

Amiga is owned and run by women, and every therapist here is Khmer. That is not a marketing line — it is the single most useful thing we can tell you before you walk through the door.

No surprises

Clean, every time

Fresh towels, warm oils

Every treatment starts with clean linen. Towels are changed between guests, the oils are warmed before they touch your skin, and the basalt stones are washed after every use.

The herbal compresses are made with dried Khmer herbs and steamed just before your massage — that is why the room smells the way it does when you walk in.

Nothing here is complicated. It is simply done properly, every time.

Open 24 hours

Just ring the bell

Amiga is open around the clock. During the day, walk straight in.

If you have just landed at Phnom Penh airport, if jet lag has you awake at four in the morning, or if you finish work long after everything else has shut, this is why the bell is there.

Between roughly midnight and dawn, the door is closed and the therapists rest inside — ring the bell and someone will open.

What a lovely place to unwind! I found this place on Google, and after viewing it's cheap prices, I decided to check it out. It's out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the Riverside area, down a quiet street, next to a street market. The atmosphere is perfect for relaxing in and I've fallen asleep from many a foot massage there. The masseurs are very friendly and professional, and tend to your needs very well. I have become a regular as I am an expat living here in Phnom Penh. I recommend this place 100%

To quote my boyfriend "this is the best massage I've ever had" - price point was really good, we had a reflexology and back / neck / shoulder massage for $12 for just over 60 mins. The pressure was really good and the technique was spot on! We would definitely come back, great experience. Best massage we've had in Cambodia.

Pretty good foot massage. Not the best I've had but certainly not the worse. The place is clean and the staff were all nice and respectful. $10 for an hour.

Had a one hour foot massage for $10 and it was great. Good strong massage that made my post palace visit feet feel like new again. Don't waste any time with the $5 places, pay a little more and get far better quality.

This is a diamond in the ruff. I feel there can be improvements to the facility, but the service was top rated. I choose a 60min foot massage and a 60min oil Massage for a total price of $28. My massu was outstanding she did a wonderful job. The ladies working the front desk were kind and informative. I highly recommend this establishment.

10 USD for a one hour foot massage. My friend really enjoyed hers. The technique was great but I wish the masseur used more pressure. They were v kind to provide a bottle of water before and after the massage, given how hot it was. Ac was awesome. Thank you ladies!

The most cheapest spa i have ever been at Phnom Penh. $10 for one hour is very reasonable. We went here everyday during the stay and it was the best experience.

Questions

Is Amiga a legitimate massage salon?

Yes. Amiga is a therapeutic massage salon, owned and run by women. We offer Khmer massage, Thai massage, oil and lotion massage, aromatherapy, body scrubs and foot massage. We do not offer any other service, and we turn away requests for anything else.

How much is a one-hour massage in Phnom Penh?

At Amiga, a one-hour treatment ranges from $12 for a foot massage to $35 for a four-hands Khmer massage with oil. Traditional Khmer massage is $15 for sixty minutes. The full price list is on this page and on the board by our door.

Do you speak English?

The owner speaks English, and several of our therapists do too. Between us, you will always be understood.

Do I need to book in advance?

No. Walk in at any time and a therapist will be available. Bookings are not required and we do not take deposits. If you are a group of three or more, a message ahead of time helps us have enough therapists ready.

What should I wear?

Come as you are. For traditional Khmer massage and foot massage you stay fully clothed — loose clothing is most comfortable. For oil, aromatherapy and scrub treatments you are covered with a towel throughout.

Are you really open in the middle of the night?

Yes. The salon is open 24 hours a day. Late at night the door is closed while the therapists rest — ring the bell by the door and someone will open for you.

Can two people be massaged at the same time?

Yes. The treatment area holds several chairs and beds side by side, so couples, friends and families are massaged together in the same room.
